Ceenex hands over Mathyzensloop Booster Pump Station

Ceenex1

We are proud of the role that we are playing in engineering water security in South Africa.

A case in point is the new Mathyzensloop Booster Pump Station which we proudly handed over to our client, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, and its constituents.

This proud moment was attended by honourable Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, David Mahlobo. The Deputy Minister was accompanied on site by Executive Mayor of Thembisile Hani Local Municipality (THLM) and Nkangala District, Lesetja Dikgale and T.D Ngwenya, respectively. Certainly, it was also a pleasure hosting Eunice Malekana, who represents Technical Services on the THLM Members of Mayoral Committee, as well as Municipal Manager, Dumisani Mahlangu, and THLM Councillors on this honoured occasion.

Like the Ceenex team especially our engineers who were directly involved in providing cutting-edge engineering design and construction supervision services, these officials have all the reason to be proud of the new booster pump station. This is considering the role that it is already playing in augmenting water supply to the parched Kwaggafontein area from the Bundu water supply system. It will enable water supply to about 57 000 people. One of the largest service-delivery infrastructure projects to have ever been undertaken by THM, the Bundu water supply system is another successful Ceenex project.

Mathyzensloop Booster Pump Station has a capacity of 7.5Ml/day and delivers water to constituents via a 250mm-diameter molecularly modified polyvinyl-chloride pipeline. It will continue to add value for many years and require minimal maintenance over its long lifecycle. This is considering the innovative use of fit-for-purpose materials to construct the infrastructure and the optimised life-cycle centred philosophy we adopted in its design. These are among the many value propositions we brought to this project.
