Our innovative post-initial set applied colloidal silica (P3) was specified by Celtis Architects to permanently treat the concrete floor slabs for a new factory that is being built by a leading manufacturer of quality process and metallurgy equipment. This sophisticated facility will enable the company to provide an even better service to its many clients in South Africa and other vibrant mining regions on the continent.

A total of 1 200m2 of concrete floor slabs were treated with our unique SCP P3 Industrial, a task performed to perfection by one of our approved applicators, RCR Flooring. The company has extensive experience working with our innovative solutions that permanently waterproof, densify, harden and seal concrete after a single spray-applied application.

Considering the high specification of this build, Celtis Architects wanted a proven system that would permanently waterproof the industrial floors and safeguard them against occasional unforeseen oil spills. Penetrating concrete deeply and then filling the capillary pore structures with more calcium-silicate-hydrate (C-S-H), SCP P3 Industrial prevents contaminants from entering concrete and damaging it from the inside out.

Furthermore, Celtis Architects specified our SCP P3 Industrial because it reduces drying shrinkage cracks and facilitates optimised curing. There have been many instances where our technology has provided a guarantee against reduced drying shrinkage. By doing away with the need for cumbersome traditional curing methods, such as plastic, water and curing compounds, the project could be accelerated to provide savings in both construction time and costs.
