Members of the Ceenex team play just as hard as they work, and it can be seen at our many social events. We encourage this and revel in the fact that all members of our team enjoy these days away from the office. They foster a sense of community and comradery in the workplace. Importantly, they also promote wellness because we value our employees. Certainly, this also demonstrates our unwavering commitment to our core values. These include creating shared value, as well as fostering pride in everything that we do, and high commitment and collaboration in the workplace.

One for the books

Ceenex already hosted three very successful social events this year, the highlight of which was a day out go-karting at KartZone at Zwartkops Raceway on the 5^th of May 2023. Most employees agree that this was the best social event we’ve had thus far – hardly surprising considering the adventurous nature of the members of our team. A case in point is Rachelle King. “I have always loved speed and I am very competitive. Therefore, from the moment I received my invitation to participate, I couldn’t wait for the day to arrive. The suspense was well worth it. The event far exceeded my expectations. It was fast and super competitive with all the teams giving their absolute best to win – without a doubt, my kind of day. I hope we do it again,” Rachelle says.

Pierre Rautenbach who enjoys action-packed activities just as much, also gives this social event a resounding thumbs up. “It was a FANTASTIC event and one for the books! Like my colleagues, I had so much fun participating. The competition was RED-HOT; got the adrenaline pumping; and it involved strong teamwork. I definitely recommend doing a social like this again.”

Quick thinkers and fast talkers

Certainly, our social events are not always just about speed and adventure. We also enjoy taking things down a notch, although, still very competitive and involving teamwork, while providing a great opportunity to network in a relaxed environment. A case in point is our tabletop days that we hold in the pause area at Ceenex’s office after our monthly company meetings.

On 9 March, employees enjoyed a round of 5 Second Rule. Those of us who are quick thinkers and fast talkers took to the game like a duck to water.

On 9 June, we played Pictionary. This was the ideal game for our large team of design engineers who can draw like nobody’s business. It was no surprise then that the game did not last very long. In hindsight, the social team should have chosen more difficult words for our engineers to draw. We will certainly bear this in mind the next time round.
